Information Technology Consultancy and Services
My name is Denis O'Hara and I have been a professional in the ICT industry for over twenty five years. After completing a degree in Computer Science and Statistics from the Queen's University Belfast, I started my ICT career at Hyster (NI) Ltd as a systems administrator and programmer. Here I got an excellent grounding as to how the IT function should service an International manufacturing corporation. More than anything I learned how IT systems add value through processing efficiencies and giving competitive advantages to organisations. Since those early days I have developed a skillset that has covered every aspect of ICT including managing software development, consultancy and project management. For all organisations regardless of whether they are in the private, public or voluntary sectors, find that getting value for money from their ICT systems is a significant challenge. It starts with the appropriate procurement of systems, competent project management and implementation and then effective downstream maintenance and support. Here I have assisted organisations to get the best out of their ICT systems and applications, by giving advice on strategy, defining and writing invitation to tenders, shortlisting and selection and the downstream oversight of supplier contracts. I have special expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning, Human Resource Systems and am a fully qualified Prince2 practitioner and have a post graduate diploma in management studies from the University of Ulster.
